Research departments
The Silesian Consulting Desk for Chemical Companies was launched at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry in Gliwice in April 2005. It was the result of the programme entitled "Supporting chemical sector companies in functioning on the European Union market", which was supported by the European Social Fund as part of Priority 2 of the Integrated Regional Operational Programme (IROP) for the Silesian Voivodship (District). The Consulting Desk gives, free of charge, training courses on MSDS, REACH and environmental issues to chemical companies of the voivodship. Experts at the Desk provide consultations and maintain a database of chemical companies in the region.

The Silesian Chemical Information Centre, in operation since early 2006, is part of a project financed by the European Social Fund and the State budget within the framework of IROP 2004 - 2006. The Centre prepares, processes and provides scientific, technical and legal information in the area of:
- development of chemical technologies in Poland and in the world,
- environmental protection and waste,
- chemical safety.
During the project implementation period, chemical companies of the Silesian Voivodship obtain a Chemical Information Bulletin and are entitled to use an Internet chemical information database free of charge.
